The illustrator and graphic designer Pariya Masoudi Moghadam opens the exhibition of her works in the Lila Villa in Chemnitz on September 8, 2020.

Ein alter Tisch. Auf dem Tisch liegen gemalte Bilder und ein Tuschkasten.

Born in Ghazvin, the capital of calligraphy, Iran, her interest in art has accompanied her since childhood. Pariya Masoudi Moghadam holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and illustration and has been active for many years in universities, schools and art institutions. She creates her numerous works in a variety of techniques – from oil paint, acrylic and watercolor to collages and copperplate engravings. She also illustrates children’s books and published one of them in Iran.

The artist has lived and worked in Chemnitz since 2018 and took part in the art exhibition Dia-logART at the VHS Chemnitz in 2019. She created a cultural calendar for a project of the women’s center Lila Villa. Pariya Masoudi Moghadam not only designs her own art, but also teaches art, in particular to pass on her knowledge of Persian art to all interested people. She teaches and integrates various techniques and styles to make different age groups more familiar with the visual arts. She currently teaches visual arts for children at the House of Cultures in Chemnitz and writes as a journalist for Horizont magazine.
