Zohreh Mirghazanfar is a new member of the Horizont team. The illustrator introduces herself and her versatile work.
My name is Zohreh Mirghazanfar. I am 28 and I am originally from Iran. One thing that my mother kept for me all these years, is my childhood painting notebook. The only thing that could get my attention and made me sit down for a long time were paper and color. The biggest and the most enjoyable part of my life still is painting. I can illustrate for hours and days, even months, without getting bored or tired. In my opinion the children’s world is the most beautiful world I have known, so I decided to work on the children’s illustrations field.
I went to art school and the most beautiful moment of my life was the time when I work hard to improve my knowledge and abilities. I worked at the same time when I was a high school student. After that I got my bachelor’s degree in graphic design and finished the master’s degree in illustrations. Until now working in art’s field creates pleasure for me. I have been to different courses and met a lot of artists, trying different kind of material and techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, ink, gouache, color pencil and embroidery.
I participated in various illustration exhibitions. I was selected as the best for the Ukraine cow international illustration biennial and brightness magazine in 2017 and 2019. In Iran I worked as an art teacher at the fine arts school and I was an illustrator for different projects. Also, I illustrated a book regarding environmental poems that it was published in 2017. I am currently working as freelancer illustrator in Turkey and collaborate with the kindergarten as an art teacher. I am also a designer of a children clothing brand named Monokido and a member of illustrations association of Turkey.
I am working with Horizont magazine and I am so interested to help people regardless of their nationality and make a more beautiful world. My new project with them is about a little girl who has a dream of having a father. She plays with him in her imagination until one night her dream becomes true and she wakes up in her father’s embrace.
